What are Pawty Pants and Panties?   Pawty Pants are apparel male dogs wear to protect your carpet and furniture from male marking.  They are also used for male dogs that are incontinent due to age or health issues, or for puppies during house breaking.  It is a wrap made of material and padding that wraps around your dog's waist, and captures urine when he attempts to mark or urinate.  Pawty Pants are made of washable, fashionable material with layers of padding inside.  They are reversible for a dual look with one side normally a cute print and the other side a solid color.  Another advantage of using Pawty Pants during housebreaking is it will let you know how much progress your little fluff is making!  We also make Pawty Panties for little girls in heat, 'excitement' wetters, and for females during house breaking, or with incontinency issues.

Why do male dogs mark?  Urine marking is one way male dogs will stake out his territory, letting other dogs know he has been there and he feels this area belongs to him.  Dogs think it is a perfectly normal way of letting other dogs know this is their territory.  To them, it is quite acceptable! Thousands of male dogs are abandoned and given up each year because of marking issues.  With the use of Pawty Pants, this behavior can be controlled or eliminated entirely.

How do Pawty Pants/Panties work?  Pawty Pants and Panties are normally used with a sanitary or incontinency pad attached inside.  They are then wrapped around the dog and secured with a velcro closure.  The urine is trapped inside the pad when the dog wets.  Most dogs do not like the feeling of wetness against his/her skin and soon learn not to wet.  Pawty Pants and Panties can save you hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars by protecting your furniture, carpet, and hard wood floors.

What type of pad do I use?  Sanitary napkins or incontinency pads work great for liners. Some dogs need the maximum capacity pads, while some male dogs only need a small, narrow pad, such as a panty liner.  If your dog is not house broken or has incontenancy problems, you will need to attach a larger pad to absorb heavier urination.  Females will need a little heavier pad, also.  The pads should be cut to fit in your dog's pawty apparel for his or her specific needs.  Start out with 1/2 a sanitary pad (unless you know your dog has a big problem) and go up or down from there.  My dogs do well with 1/3 of a pad.  They are markers.

How often will I have to change the pad?  This will vary from dog to dog.  If your dog doesn’t like the feeling of being wet, he may never wet again with his Pawty apparel.  You soon might not even need to use a pad.  Other dogs may have to have their pads changed every few hours.  Each dog is different and you will have to learn what is best for your little fluff.

Do I leave the Pawty apparel on all the time?  You should take Pawty Pants or Panties off when your dog goes outside for a walk and to relieve himself.  Praise your dog when he wets outside and let him know you are pleased.  Hopefully, he will soon realize that he gets praise when he wets outside. Don’t scold him when he is wet as they will not know why you are scolding them.  Have your dog wear his Pawty Pants when you go visiting friends and relatives homes or other indoor places.  This will prevent any embarassing moments in their home and will let them know you are a responsible dog owner who respects their home.  If you crate train your dog, you should be able to leave him in his crate without his Pawty Pants on.  Most dogs will not eliminate in their sleeping quarters.  There are exceptions, so if you dog does wet in his crate, you will need to use it then, also.

What size will I need?  You will need to measure your dog around his waist for proper sizing.  Pawty Pants have elastic and will allow for some variation of size should he gain or lose a little weight. Measure your dog around his waist about 2 inches in front of his back legs.

How many Pawty Pants/Panties should I order?  You will need at least two pants/panties per dog.  This will allow you to wash one while the other is being used.  Some dogs may need more depending on how heavy and often they urinate.

Aren’t Pawty Pants/Panties waterproof?  Pawty Pants and Panties are not waterproof, but the sanitary pads will normally hold most of the urine.  I do not make Pawty Pants and Panties waterproof because the material used for waterproofing does not allow your dog’s skin to breath properly.  This can lead to rashes and irritation. Pawty Pants and Panties have extra layers of absorbant padding to help prevent minor leaks.

How do I care for Pawty Pants and Panties?  Pawty Pants and Panties are machine washable and dryable.  Be sure to remove any pads before washing and attach the velcro together to prevent lint from being caught in the velcro.  This will also prevent the velcro from sticking to any other clothing.

Will each Pawty Pants or Panties fit a range of sizes? Each Pawty Pant is made with elastic and a 2-3 inch Velcro strip to provide about 2 inches of adjustability.  It is not possible to make a “One Size Fits All”.  Please carefully measure your dog and order the best size so the Velcro will not be exposed to catch on your clothing or his hair, etc. Pawty apparel fit much better and are more comfortable for your little fluff to wear when they are properly sized.  If you dog does grow, I can make an extender to use with your Pawty Pants.

What width should I order?
We graduate the width of our Pawty Pants to be proportionate to the length. This is adequate for most breeds. If you have a dog with a longer body, such as a Dachshund, just let us know you need it wider.
